The St John's & Highwoods Community Centre owned by St John's and Highwoods Community Association  www.communitycentre.org.uk - benefits the residents of St John's and Highwoods neighbourhood through the provision of services and facilities for their educational, welfare and leisure pursuits.

​St John's & Highwoods Community Association was formed in the 70's and was originally called St Johns Community Association. Tasked with finding a suitable location for a Community Centre on St John's Estate, without success they continued fundraising and the Association decided to embrace the new Highwoods Estate and looked for a site on Highwoods and came to an agreement with Tesco to build a centre on their land.

St John's & Highwoods Community Centre has celebrated its' 24th Birthday having been built and opened in the Spring of 1998. It boasts a number of facilities that you would expect to find in a new building aimed at being adaptable to the needs of the people using it.  The centre is situated at the heart of Highwoods to the north east side of Colchester close to the country park. We are situated 5 minutes from the A12 and 15 minutes from the town centre.

This makes The St John's & Highwoods Community Centre an ideal venue for your special occasion. With parking for over 100 cars, and coaches by arrangement, we are able to accommodate both small intimate parties as well as Weddings and Business Conferences.
